Melissa Chanel: I would call my style Edgy and Chic. I bring daring and fun to your typical everyday girl. It’s exciting for me because I think when people see my face or smile, they have on impression of me, and then they see me out and it makes them scratch their heads (in good way of course). I am perfectly at home in my favorite lipstick RiRi Woo and some leopard pumps, but I am also very comfortable in a t-shirt, some leggings, and the latest jordans. However, it is when these two styles met that you have “MelissaChanel.” I can be seen in a two piece pineapple pattern skirt and top, some gladitor sandals, 80’s vintage shades and a nice soft pink lip. It is that type of variety and combo that creates my edgy yet chic style.
Tell us more about your site MelissaChanel.com, and what it’s all about.
MelissaChanel.com is a fusion of my love for fashion and natural hair. A woman’s hair is often apart of her outfit which gave me the idea to merge the two. On my blog I try to give fashion advice, natural hair inspiration, product reviews, and how I rocked certain looks. I want my readers to be excited to read each and every day.
What inspired you to launch your blog MelissaChanel.com ?
Melissa: I started MelissaChanel.com after I would receive tons of Facebook and twitter messages asking about certain hair products or putting outfits together for upcoming events. My friend Terrinique said one day “You should start your own blog and answer all the questions at once” and the rest was history.
