My style is classic with an infusion of current trends. Thankfully for me, a lot of the trends that I gravitate toward are pretty broad. Black/ White combo, tribal, monochromatic are trends that work for any closet! I love accessories because they can totally transform even the most basic of looks. As a personal stylist, I have to adapt to the styles and preferences of a wide variety of clients. I keep an eye out on how to infuse their preferences with what I know will bring out their best features.

The goal of Your Stylist, Karen is to offer motivation for personal growth and to share some tips on personal style. My motto is “Styling You From The Inside Out” because I believe that how we feel on the inside manifests itself on the outside.
As a licensed counselor, I saw the need for women to have some direction in their professional lives. Often times, personal situations would affect my client’s professionalism. I also noticed that many of them were being passed over for promotions and leadership positions. I tied that together with exterior presentation and birthed the vision for Your Stylist, Karen.
Top 3 Style Tips From Your Stylist, Karen
Play with Color: If you’ve got a closet full of neutrals (navy, black, camel, or gray) add some jazz to your look with bold accessories and shoes. Guess what? Go really crazy and pick two complimentary colors for your bag and shoes, no need to be matchy-matchy!
Hem Your Pants: Find a good tailor and stick with him. Hem each pair of pants to fit the heel height that you will primarily wear with it, i.e. pumps vs. flats. Typically, hems should meet the tops of your shoes and be from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch off the floor.
Finish With A Scarf: This is the ultimate accessory because of its versatility. Tie it around your purse, then around your hair or maybe even around your neck. You can literally transform the simplest of outfits by adding a scarf. I love scarves so much that I just created a Pinterest board about how to maximize their use. (Check it out here)
