Ladies, Assume The Position!

Ladies, what’s your favorite position? And No, it’s not what you’re thinking, so you can get your mind out the gutter. What I’m referring to is, what you aspire to be. At some point, we all have aspired to be and do something great, but came up short for lack of focused intention and action. Mentally placing yourself in the position that which you want, will enable you to be, do, and have all the things that you want. If that means faking it until you make it, so be it.

You are whom you decide to be at any given moment. So say for instance, you desire to be a Boss, you have to walk, talk, and assert yourself as such. That means your digesting the same reading material that a boss would, your interacting with other like-minded business people, and you’re observing and picking up tips and techniques as a boss. By the means of this intentional action, you are bombarding your subconscious mind with the images and ideas of what you want, and as a result you are attracting to you these desires.

When I had interest to work in the fashion industry I developed and embodied all that industry required of me. I studied fashion, learned the lingo, networked with industry colleagues. My concentrated efforts to work in the fashion industry allowed me to get hired by a fashion company the second day of being in New York. What are the odds of that? That opportunity was already mines before I even touch down in NYC. I seen it, felt it, anticipated it, and I became it!

In view of that, I urge you to take a step back to analyze whether you’ve been ‘assuming the position‘ of that which you want. If that is not case, in order to do so you must imitate confidence so that as the confidence produces success, it will generate real confidence. And to ensure that happens, your thoughts, words, and action has to align with your pursuits. This means to not settle for the current position you have, but to prepare for opportunities that you assume is yours. That is to say, whatever you assume you become.

Case in point, if you’re working at an entry level position, and want to be promoted to mid level or senior management you have to rise to the occasion and display the qualities and mannerisms of a executive level manager. Now as you exude the impression of an executive, upper management will most likely take notice of your sense of initiative and propensity to lead. With that being said, it would be a matter of no time before you advance to your desired position.

Not only do you have to embody what you desire, you have to be mindful of the people you’ve been interacting with the most; considering you are the average of the five people you mingle with. If you associate yourself with people that speak limitation, you will also unconsciously ‘assume the position‘ of limitation and that will become your truth. Taking note of outside influences is paramount, so your best bet is to surround yourself with people who have what you want. Furthermore, being exposed to individuals who have already attained what you are seeking will enable you to observe and adapt some of the positive traits associated with your ideal intentions.

Who would of thought that ‘assuming the position‘ would be so empowering in magnetizing your hearts desires. Through this awareness, your confidence levels should be out the roof!  Declare it to the world through your presence and conduct what you intend to be or do, and assume the position!

Are you currently assuming the position of what you want? Have you seen the benefits of assuming the position of your aspirations?  Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
