One year ago BlissedOutBelle.com was officially launched on 12-3-12, and I’m proud to say HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY! As the editor-in-chief of the site I didn’t know what to expect upon its arrival. “How would people find out about the site?” “When would I find the time to create content?” “What if it wasn’t well received?” These were all the questions that ran through my head, however I’m glad that I didn’t let these “what if’s” block me from actually launching the site. BlissedOutBelle.com has become a major success, and as of today the site receives tons of readers per month and is growing. All things considered, most importantly I would like to give a huge “Thank You” to all the readers and everyone who has supported the site and me.
When the idea first popped into my head to develop the site in the summer of 2012, I had no idea how I was going pull this project together. Yet, I through my whole ‘being’ into the creation BlissedOutBelle.com, from coming up with the name, to the development of the site, to creating the content. One thing was sure; my goal was to have the site be the go to destination for women’s lifestyle topics from a personal growth, and self improvement perspective. I believe I’ve accomplished what I set out to do, and there’s more room for improvement. Overall, I want to take this time to celebrate the lessons, and growth I’ve acquired in this year long journey.
1.It’s okay to shine. As in Marianne Williamson’s famous quote “as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” As a private person, when I was initially developing the site I wanted to be low key, and write under a pseudo name. On the other hand, I was aware that people like to connect to an actual person and face, because this is what creates deep connections with the readers. Therefore, this also meant that I had to release some hang-ups about how much information I was willing to disclose. In order to create an authentic relationship with my readers, I had to share the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, through me sharing my experiences I was able to see how several people were able to relate and draw insight from it as well.
2. Self Care is central to success. I learned the hard way the importance of self-care when I was burned out from staying up late at night working. Indeed, the success of BlissedOutBelle.com is important to me, but not at the cost of my wellbeing. When I’m not taking care of me, it’s very difficult to access joy, happiness, passion, and my creative self. As the editor-in-chief, when I nurture my Mind, Body, & Spirit, I’m able to show at my best in my life, and for the readers.
3. The mission was never about blogging. Upon launching BlissedOutBelle.com it would appear as though my aim was all about blogging, however it truly was about using the site as a platform to have empowering conversations about women’s lifestyle and self-improvement topics. My vision for the site and myself has grown much larger since it’s inception. The aim is to grow BlissedOutBelle.com into a lifestyle powerhouse empowering women to be their best in all aspects of thier life. In addition to this, I will be launching a coaching program for ambitious women who want to cultivate a life filled with passion, purpose, and adventure. I’m passionate about empowerment and I want to support female change-makers and entrepreneurs on their journey in serving the world.
