As 2012 whines down, I can honestly say I had a blast. I completely challenged myself, stepped out of my comfort zone, took major leaps, and even discovered a few interesting things about myself. I’m sure you might be wondering what might’ve made my year such a blast, but it has been a mixture of many things. Similar to most people, I started the year off strong by setting powerful goals and great expectations. Not only did I have powerful intentions, but I also had to clean house too.
Cleaning house meant that I had to cut all the negative naysayers, the energy drainers, garbage, and clutter that might have been weighting me down; and if that included some family members, so be it! I had to distance myself from people that where not uplifting me, and traded that for a circle of loving and supportive family and friends. Taking out the garbage was also a task within itself, and I don’t just mean physical clutter, but mental as well. This year I consciously stood guard at the gates of my mind, and by all means necessary ensured that I filtered out the garbage. Taking all these necessary steps has given me such peace of mind and happiness.
Once I accomplished my physical and mental detox, I was ready to spring into action. Proactive was my middle name in 2012, and anything that I wanted to get done I did it! My self-discipline was at an all time high, so I tackled a few things that had been lingering.
First and foremost, abundance was my right hand man, and freelance fashion opportunities were always available for me. Prospects were over flowing to the point where I even turned down a few gigs. I’m honored to know that previous clients are still requesting my assistance. With all the great things that were happening, all the more gave me the courage to re-negotiate my rate. I Asked, believed, and I surely received!
Another one of my main goals has finally materialized; I whipped myself into shape, and I spared no expense when it came to taking care of myself. Your health is your wealth, so it was time for a health and fitness makeover. I’m really proud of myself for starting to go back to the gym. Attending the gym, for me was not so much about losing weight, but staying lean and strengthening my endurance. Also, added to this fitness makeover was my custom nutrition plan; that help me to select foods based on my body type, and nutrient intake. The fitness overhaul I have undertaken is not just a temporary diet but, a lifestyle transformation, and I’m happy to say things are still going strong. Since I had been investing in my fitness, when it came time to embark on a vacation, my body was rockin!
Now, when I stated that I took a major leap, I literally took a major leap out of a plane! Yes, I went skydiving! It was something I always wanted to do, and now I can cross that off my bucket list. I’m a forever- changed woman from that experience, and I now see the world with new eyes. Even when I told everyone about my plans, and many were skeptical; I honestly wasn’t fearful at all. I had intense faith in what I was about to do, and faith alone can make all the difference. Skydiving gave me such a rush, that I was ready to venture out to try other adrenaline pumping activities like ziplining!
I have come to uncover some things about myself, and as I have said before, I’m still a work in progress. And I have discovered that I’m truly stronger then I think I am. Ups and downs are bound to happen, but with me I’m made stronger by it. “Pressure busts pipes, but it can also make a diamond”. To my core, I have really come to understand and hone my inner strength, and I can face any challenge put before me. My confidence has sky rocketed with this awareness, and I’m loving every moment of it.
2012 was a great year for me, but I intend on having an even better year for 2013. I have accomplished many things this year but most of all my biggest accomplishment is launching BlissedOutBelle.com. It took courage and persistence to establish this online publication, and I appreciate all the new and returning readers. I encourage you to stay connected for more thought provoking articles in the upcoming year, and stay tuned for my upcoming endeavors. Best wishes to you in the New Year!
